Research Training Unit
The Research Training Unit (RTU) aims to create a culture of research excellence and innovation by providing research training, infrastructure and resources to all members in the FOM and research community.
The RTU is responsible:
- To develop research training strategy for FOM
- To provide research consultation services based on researcher’s needs
- To conduct relevant workshops, seminars, talks and related research activities
Services
- Research Workshops/Trainings
- Conduct research-related workshops/trainings to students and staffs, either on its own or through collaboration with other departments or institutions/organizations
- Research Methodology & Statistics Consultation (RMSC)
- Provide one-to-one meetings for client to get advice from a consultant on research methodology issues of his/her research study such as sample size calculation and data analysis
- Write to rotraining@um.edu.my to book a meeting slot by providing
- Reasons for meeting the consultant
- Research study objectives
- Short explanation on the research study
- Relevant attachments such as proposals and articles
- UM REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture)
- A secure, web-based platform designed to help researchers create, manage, and analyze databases and surveys for research projects. It is widely used in academic and clinical settings. It allows easy data entry, supports longitudinal and multi-site studies, and includes features like automated exports to statistical software, and customizable survey tools
